Students entering 6th grade can bridge the summer learning gap and continue to prepare for middle school over the summer break with Summer Solutions 5th Grade Study Skills. All educational standards require children leaving fifth grade to cite specific information in a text, use comparison and contrast, find main ideas, draw inferences, understand cause/effect, and use context clues to determine the meaning of words. Using the summer workbook, students complete 30 lessons of mixed review over a 10-week period. This ongoing practice shores up literacy and study skills covered in 5th grade. Additional skills in the workbook include solving analogies, interpreting and using graphic organizers, distinguishing between fact and opinion, and using resources and test taking strategies. By completing just one lesson three days a week, students enter 6th grade ready to begin learning new material right away. These summer workbooks include Help Pages and a complete answer key.
